Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mosaic HIV-1 envelope trimer immunogens (MOS1SIP, MOS2SIP, M3SIP8) combined with the adjuvant monophosphoryl lipid A liposomes (MPLA-5) is an investigational therapeutic vaccine regimen primarily focused on preventive HIV vaccine development. The approach uses engineered "mosaic" envelope proteins designed to elicit broad immune responses against diverse global strains of HIV. The MPLA-5 component acts as an adjuvant to enhance the immune response. This combination is being evaluated in clinical trials for its ability to induce neutralizing antibodies and potentially assist in both prevention and cure research for HIV infection[2][6][7].
