Overview
**Mosapride citrate + rebamipide** is a fixed-dose combination of two small-molecule drugs indicated primarily for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG). Mosapride is a gastroprokinetic agent that acts as a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine 4 (5-HT4) receptor agonist, enhancing gastric motility by promoting acetylcholine release and accelerating gastrointestinal transit[4][2]. It also acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT3 receptor via its major metabolite[4]. Rebamipide is a gastric mucosal protective agent that enhances mucosal defense by stimulating endogenous prostaglandin production, improving mucosal blood flow, inhibiting the generation of free radicals, suppressing cytokine production, and reducing neutrophil activation[6][3]. The combination is shown to provide superior efficacy in CAG treatment compared to mosapride monotherapy, with greater symptom improvement, pathological recovery, and beneficial changes in gastric mucosal biomarkers, without increasing adverse effects[1][2][3].
