MP-470 + docetaxel is a combination therapy under investigation primarily for cancer treatment, especially in prostate cancer models. MP-470 is a novel small molecule receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets multiple kinases, including AXL and members of the HER family (EGFR/HER1, HER2/neu, and HER3), thereby inhibiting downstream PI3K/Akt signaling pathways involved in tumor growth and survival[6][3]. Docetaxel is an antineoplastic agent classified as a taxane derivative; it binds to tubulin in microtubules, promoting their assembly while inhibiting disassembly. This stabilization disrupts mitosis and leads to cell death[8][5]. The combination has shown enhanced efficacy over either agent alone by more effectively suppressing AXL expression and overcoming resistance mechanisms in preclinical prostate cancer models[3].
