mRNA-1010 + mRNA-1273 (also known by the development code mRNA-1073) is an investigational combination vaccine developed by Moderna, Inc. to provide simultaneous protection against seasonal influenza and COVID-19. The vaccine consists of mRNA-1010, a quadrivalent influenza candidate targeting the hemagglutinin (HA) proteins of A/H1N1, A/H3N2, B/Victoria, and B/Yamagata strains, and mRNA-1273 (Spikevax), which targets the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Both components are encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for efficient delivery and expression in host cells. This combination aims to reduce the global burden of respiratory diseases and simplify vaccination schedules through a single injection. It is also a component of Moderna's triple combination vaccine candidate, mRNA-1230.
