Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MSV-allo** is an investigational, donor-derived mesenchymal stromal cell therapy developed by Red de Terapia Celular. The product consists of allogeneic bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stem/stromal cells administered by intravenous infusion. It is intended to mitigate the dysregulated inflammatory response associated with severe COVID-19 pneumonia and acute respiratory failure through broad paracrine immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and tissue-repair effects rather than through a single defined molecular target. MSV-allo was evaluated in the completed randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase I/II MSV-COVID study in severe COVID-19 pneumonia and is also in Phase II development for lupus nephritis.
