MT1110 + LRRK2 is a preclinical-stage small molecule combination therapy being developed by Montara Therapeutics for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The combination consists of MT1110, a proprietary brain-penetrant small molecule, and a component targeting Leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2). LRRK2 is a well-validated target in Parkinson's disease, as mutations in the LRRK2 gene are among the most common genetic risk factors for the condition, leading to increased kinase activity that contributes to neuronal damage. By combining MT1110 with LRRK2 inhibition, the therapy aims to provide a synergistic or additive effect in slowing disease progression and addressing the underlying neurodegenerative mechanisms.
