Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MTPI, a tetraphenylimidazole (TPI) monomer, is an amphiphilic fluorophore designed for wash-free cell plasma membrane imaging. It functions as a fluorescent molecular rotor, exhibiting minimal fluorescence in aqueous environments but significantly enhanced emission in high-viscosity media. Its amphiphilic properties enable stable anchoring within anionic micelles/vesicles, which activates its intense fluorescence, making it suitable for visualizing cell plasma membranes.
