MTS-107 is an innovative mRNA-based therapeutic vaccine developed by Metis Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of HPV16/18-positive cancers, including cervical cancer (CESC) and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). The drug consists of lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-encapsulated mRNA that encodes for multiple antigenic signals, specifically mutated E6 and E7 antigens from both HPV16 and HPV18. These mutations are designed to bypass p53 and pRb degradation, thereby eliminating carcinogenic risk while maintaining the ability to induce a robust immune response. The vaccine also incorporates an optimized co-stimulatory adjuvant to enhance antigen presentation and T-cell stimulation. MTS-107 leverages Metis's proprietary AI-powered NanoForge platform and utilizes a spleen-targeted LNP delivery system to optimize the induction of systemic anti-tumor immunity.
