Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MTS-109 is a first-in-class, mRNA-encoded trispecific T-cell engager (TCE) designed to target CD19, BCMA, and CD3. Developed by METiS TechBio using its proprietary NanoForge platform (specifically the AiProtein and AiRNA engines) and encapsulated in a lipid nanoparticle (LNP), MTS-109 is engineered to achieve broad and profound depletion of both mature B cells and antibody-secreting plasma cells. By simultaneously targeting CD19 (expressed on B cells) and BCMA (expressed on plasma cells), the therapy aims to clear the pathogenic antibody-producing compartment as well as the cells that replenish it, facilitating a durable 'immune reset' in severe B-cell-driven autoimmune diseases. MTS-109 is currently being evaluated in investigator-initiated Phase 1 clinical trials in China for refractory autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, and ANCA-associated vasculitis.
