Overview

MU001 is a topical therapeutic formulation developed by the University of Chile, consisting of a combination of snail slime (*Helix aspersa Müller*), calendula, and propolis. It is administered via a patch for the treatment of Wagner grade 1-2 diabetic foot ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes. The formulation aims to accelerate wound healing through the synergistic actions of its natural components: snail slime provides regenerative proteins and glycosaminoglycans to facilitate tissue repair, calendula offers anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and propolis serves as a natural antimicrobial agent to prevent infection. A Phase I/II clinical trial has been conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of MU001 patches compared to the standard of care for chronic diabetic wounds.
