Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Multi-oil fat emulsion injection (C6~24) is a multi-component intravenous lipid emulsion used for parenteral nutrition. It provides energy, essential fatty acids, and omega-3 fatty acids to patients who cannot obtain adequate nutrition via oral or enteral routes. The emulsion is composed of a mixture of soybean oil, medium-chain triglycerides, olive oil, and fish oil, spanning a carbon chain range of C6 to C24. It is being co-developed in China by Chengdu Guowei Biopharmaceutical and Sichuan Kelun Pharmaceutical (with Kelun acting as the contract manufacturer) as a generic version of the reference product SMOFlipid (marketed as Hewen by Fresenius Kabi). The drug is indicated for postoperative nutritional deficiency and malnutrition, particularly as parenteral nutrition support for patients undergoing elective abdominal surgery who require 100% of daily energy intake from parenteral nutrition.
