Overview

Multiple Electrolytes Injection (II) is an isotonic, balanced crystalloid solution designed to mimic the electrolyte composition of human plasma more closely than traditional normal saline (0.9% sodium chloride). It contains a combination of cations including sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, with a lower chloride concentration intended to prevent iatrogenic hyperchloremia and associated metabolic acidosis. The solution is currently being evaluated by Capital Medical University in the Phase 4 MERIT trial (NCT06374823) for fluid maintenance and volume resuscitation in patients with severe hemorrhagic stroke, including cerebral, intraventricular, and subarachnoid hemorrhages. By providing a more physiological electrolyte profile, it aims to improve clinical outcomes in neurocritical care patients who require significant fluid volume management.
