Overview

This investigational multivalent WT1 peptide vaccine is a biologic therapy developed by Dr. Michael Morse and researchers at Duke University Medical Center. It is designed to stimulate an immune response against the Wilms' Tumor 1 (WT1) protein, which is frequently overexpressed in various hematologic malignancies. The vaccine consists of four synthetic peptides: two HLA class I-restricted (HLA-A2 and HLA-A24) and two HLA class II-restricted (HLA-DR15 and HLA-DRw53), intended to activate both CD8+ and CD4+ T cells. It is formulated with the adjuvants GM-CSF (sargramostim) and Montanide ISA-51 to enhance immunogenicity. The vaccine is primarily being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and B-cell malignancies, particularly in the setting of minimal residual disease following stem cell transplantation.
