Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Munziq and Musili are traditional Unani medicinal formulations used sequentially in a detoxification therapy known as **Tanqiya** (evacuation of morbid humors). **Munziq** (also known as *Munzij* or concoctive) is administered first to ripen or prepare the morbid humors (phlegm, bile, or black bile) for elimination. This is followed by **Musili** (also known as *Mushil* or purgative), which facilitates the evacuation of these prepared humors from the body. This regimen is a cornerstone of Unani medicine for treating chronic inflammatory and metabolic conditions, including vitiligo (*Bars*), psoriasis (*Da-us-sadaf*), and rheumatoid arthritis (*Waja-ul-Mafasil*). The specific ingredients of the Munziq and Musili formulations vary depending on the humor being targeted; for example, a regimen targeting black bile is referred to as *Munzij-e-Sauda* and *Mushil-e-Sauda*.
