muraglitazar + pravastatin

This is a combination of two small molecule drugs: **muraglitazar**, a dual peroxisome proliferator–activated receptor (PPAR) alpha/gamma agonist (glitazar class) developed for type 2 diabetes and shown to improve glycemic control and lipid parameters, and **pravastatin**, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) indicated for the treatment of high cholesterol and prevention of cardiovascular disease. Muraglitazar acts as an insulin sensitizer and lipid regulator by activating PPARα (triglyceride lowering, HDL-raising) and PPARγ (improved glycemic control), while pravastatin reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver. No evidence suggests that a fixed-dose or branded pharmaceutical product combining these agents is available; this represents a pharmacologic combination potentially investigated or used off-label for management of diabetes and dyslipidemia in patients at high cardiovascular risk.
