Overview

Murine CD19 CAR-T cells (Zhejiang University) is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed for the treatment of B-cell malignancies. The therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that targets the CD19 antigen, a cell surface protein consistently expressed across most B-cell developmental stages and on the majority of B-cell derived cancers. This specific construct is distinguished by its use of a murine-derived single-chain variable fragment (scFv) for antigen recognition, rather than a humanized version. Once re-infused into the patient, these engineered T cells are programmed to identify and eliminate CD19-positive malignant B cells. Developed by Zhejiang University, the therapy is primarily being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL).
