Overview

MVF-HER-2(628-647)-CRL 1005 is a peptide-based therapeutic cancer vaccine designed to induce an immune response against the HER2 (Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2) antigen, which is overexpressed in certain cancers such as breast and lung cancer. The vaccine consists of a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 628–647 of the HER2 protein, conjugated with CRL 1005 copolymer as an adjuvant to enhance immunogenicity. Its mechanism involves antagonizing HER2 by stimulating the production of anti-HER2 antibodies, aiming to target and destroy tumor cells expressing this receptor. The drug was developed by the National Cancer Institute and has been studied primarily for metastatic or recurrent cancers in early-phase clinical trials[1][3][7].
