Overview

MYM-V202 is a bivalent HIV-1 vaccine candidate developed by Mymetics Corporation in collaboration with Pevion Biotech and INSERM. The vaccine utilizes a virosome platform, which consists of non-infectious, lipid-based particles derived from influenza virus membranes that are devoid of nucleic acids. It incorporates two HIV-1 gp41-derived antigens: the P1 peptide and recombinant gp41 (rgp41), both anchored into the virosome membrane. To enhance the immune response, the formulation includes the adjuvant 3M-052, a Toll-like receptor 7/8 (TLR7/8) agonist. MYM-V202 is designed to elicit both mucosal and systemic antibodies to prevent HIV-1 infection. Clinical development has included Phase I trials evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of virosome-based gp41 antigens in healthy volunteers.
