Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The combination of myo-inositol, soy isoflavones, and cocoa polyphenols is a nutraceutical dietary supplement developed by Farmares srl for the management of metabolic and vasomotor symptoms in menopausal women. Marketed under the brand name INOFOLIC NRT, the formulation contains 2000 mg of myo-inositol, 80 mg of soy isoflavones (including 50 mg of genistin), and 30 mg of cocoa polyphenols. Myo-inositol acts as an insulin-sensitizing agent that improves glucose metabolism and cardiovascular biomarkers. Soy isoflavones function as phytoestrogens, providing beneficial effects on bone metabolism and reducing the frequency and severity of hot flashes. Cocoa polyphenols contribute antioxidant properties. Clinical studies have demonstrated that this combination improves body mass index, waist circumference, and symptoms of depression, while also reducing the prevalence of non-insulin dependent diabetes in the target population.
