Overview

Myoinositol + letrozole is an investigational combination therapy being evaluated for ovulation induction in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and infertility. Letrozole is a selective aromatase inhibitor that induces ovulation by suppressing estrogen biosynthesis, which triggers a compensatory increase in follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) release from the pituitary gland. Myoinositol, a naturally occurring carbocyclic sugar and insulin sensitizer, is used as an adjunct to improve insulin sensitivity, restore metabolic profiles, and enhance ovulatory function. This specific combination is being studied by Beni-Suef University in a Phase 3 clinical trial to determine if the addition of myoinositol to standard letrozole therapy improves pregnancy and ovulation rates compared to letrozole alone or in combination with other supplements like chromium picolinate or L-arginine.
