Overview

Myrcene + linalool is a combination of two naturally occurring terpenes, commonly found in cannabis and other plants. Myrcene is a monoterpene known for its earthy, musky aroma and is associated with sedative, muscle-relaxing, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory effects. Linalool is a monoterpenoid with a floral scent, noted for calming, anxiolytic, and mildly sedative properties. When combined, these terpenes exhibit a synergistic effect, often resulting in enhanced relaxation, sedation, muscle relaxation, and potential sleep-inducing benefits, commonly referred to as the "entourage effect" in cannabis science. This combination is primarily used in the context of aromatherapy, dietary supplements, and cannabis formulations intended for stress relief, anxiety reduction, and sleep support[1][4][7][8]. The mechanism of action involves modulation of GABAergic and possibly opioid receptor activity in the central nervous system, influencing neurotransmission to promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, and provide mild analgesia[3][4][5].
