N,N'-diphenyl-1,4-phenylenediamine (DPPD) is a small molecule primarily recognized for its potent antioxidant properties. It has been investigated for its therapeutic potential in conditions involving oxidative stress, such as Type I diabetes, where it enhanced the therapeutic capabilities of adipose-derived stem cells, and in mitigating cisplatin-induced renal interstitial fibrosis. DPPD has also shown efficacy in inhibiting low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation, suggesting a potential role in atherosclerosis.
