Overview

N,N-[2,5-O-di-2-fluoro-benzyl-glucaryl]-di-[1-amino-indan-2-ol] is a synthetic small molecule inhibitor known as BEA403. It is an experimental compound designed as a potent inhibitor of HIV protease. The molecule features dihydroxy and fluoro-substituted benzyloxy side groups that enhance its antiviral activity and binding efficacy against the HIV protease enzyme. Structural studies have shown it binds in the active site of HIV protease and acts by blocking enzymatic cleavage required for viral maturation[6][7]. It has not been approved for clinical use or entered advanced clinical trials.
