Overview

N-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N-methylbenzene-1,4-disulfonamide is an experimental small molecule belonging to the benzenesulfonamides class. It has not been approved for clinical use and is primarily studied in preclinical or early-stage research settings. This compound acts as a substituted benzene disulfonamide and has been investigated for its potential anticancer properties. Mechanistically, it binds to the prenyl binding pocket of PDE65 (a phosphodiesterase), thereby inhibiting the interaction between PDE65 and farnesylated Ras proteins. This inhibition disrupts oncogenic Ras signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation and differentiation—key processes in cancer development[5]. No marketed formulations or brand names are associated with this compound.
