Drug intelligence / Profile preview
N-803 (also known as nogapendekin alfa inbakicept or ANKTIVA) is an interleukin-15 (IL-15) receptor superagonist complex designed to activate and expand natural killer (NK) cells and CD8+ T cells by optimizing in vivo persistence and trans-presentation of IL-15. This immunostimulatory biologic enhances anti-tumor immune responses and has been shown to synergize with other therapies, including monoclonal antibodies and chemotherapeutics. Gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog antimetabolite chemotherapy agent that inhibits DNA synthesis by incorporating into DNA during replication, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of rapidly dividing tumor cells. The combination of N-803 with gemcitabine is being investigated for its potential to enhance anti-tumor efficacy through both direct cytotoxic effects on cancer cells (gemcitabine) and immune-mediated mechanisms (N-803). Clinical trials are ongoing for various cancers including high-grade ovarian cancer and non-muscle invasive bladder cancer[5][6][7].
