N-acetylcysteine + alpha-lipoic acid + liposomal glutathione is an antioxidant combination therapy developed by Lung Biotechnology PBC for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The therapy is designed to mitigate oxidative stress, a key driver of vascular remodeling and endothelial dysfunction in PAH. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) serve as precursors and cofactors to enhance the endogenous production of glutathione, while the liposomal formulation of glutathione is intended to provide direct antioxidant support with improved systemic bioavailability. A Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT03507309) was planned to evaluate this oral 'Antioxidant Cocktail' as an add-on therapy in PAH patients, but the study was ultimately withdrawn by the sponsor before enrollment began.
