Overview

Lipid emulsions act by providing alternative substrates for cellular metabolism and sequestering lipophilic toxins from target tissues ("lipid sink" effect)[4][6]. - **Heparin:** An anticoagulant that potentiates the activity of antithrombin III, thereby inhibiting thrombin and factor Xa to prevent clot formation. The combination has been studied experimentally to model or counteract metabolic disturbances such as insulin resistance induced by elevated free fatty acids (using lipid emulsion plus heparin) and to assess whether NAC can mitigate these effects through its antioxidant action[1]. This specific triple combination does not have a unique brand name or established clinical indication but is used in research settings to study metabolic regulation.
