N1,N2-Ethylene-2-methylamino-4,5,6,7-tetrabromo-benzimidazole is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the benzimidazole class of organic compounds. It features a benzene ring fused to an imidazole ring and is heavily brominated at positions 4 through 7 (or equivalently described as tetrabrominated). The compound has been studied primarily as an experimental tool compound and is not approved for clinical use in any country. Its main known biological activity is inhibition of casein kinase II (CSNK2A1), also known as casein kinase II subunit alpha—a serine/threonine protein kinase involved in various cellular processes including cell cycle control and apoptosis[1][8]. There are no approved indications or ongoing clinical trials for this molecule.
