This chemotherapy regimen is being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial (NCT05843357) sponsored by Henan Cancer Hospital for the treatment of hormone receptor (HR)-low/HER2-negative advanced breast cancer. The experimental arm utilizes an induction phase of combination chemotherapy consisting of either nab-paclitaxel plus capecitabine or vinorelbine plus capecitabine, followed by a maintenance phase with single-agent nab-paclitaxel or capecitabine. This approach is designed to address the clinical needs of patients with HR-low expression (1-10%), a population that often exhibits biological behavior similar to triple-negative breast cancer and may derive greater benefit from intensive chemotherapy compared to standard endocrine therapy combined with CDK4/6 inhibitors.
