Overview

nab-paclitaxel + vinorelbine + granulocyte colony-stimulating factor is a combination chemotherapy regimen composed of three agents: nab-paclitaxel (an albumin-bound formulation of paclitaxel), vinorelbine (a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid), and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (a hematopoietic growth factor). Nab-paclitaxel works by stabilizing microtubules and blocking cell division. Vinorelbine inhibits microtubule assembly, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of tumor cells. These two cytotoxic agents demonstrate synergistic activity with opposite effects on microtubules. Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor is added to reduce chemotherapy-induced neutropenia by stimulating proliferation and differentiation of neutrophil progenitors. This combination is primarily investigated for use in advanced breast cancer and lung cancer, particularly when standard regimens fail or intensified cytotoxicity is needed. The regimen's key toxicity is severe neutropenia, justifying the routine inclusion of colony-stimulating factor[1][2][3].
