Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nadolol + bendroflumethiazide is a fixed-dose combination of two antihypertensive agents used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Nadolol is a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker (beta-blocker) that reduces heart rate and cardiac output by inhibiting both beta1 receptors in the heart and beta2 receptors in bronchial and vascular smooth muscle. Bendroflumethiazide is a thiazide diuretic that lowers blood pressure by increasing urinary excretion of sodium and water, thereby reducing plasma volume. The combination helps control hypertension more effectively than either agent alone[1][2][3][4][5].
