Overview
NAL2527 is a long-acting microsphere injection formulation of the atypical antipsychotic olanzapine, currently under development by NAL Pharmaceutical Group for the treatment of schizophrenia. As an atypical antipsychotic, its primary mechanism of action involves antagonism of dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. The formulation is designed to provide sustained therapeutic levels of olanzapine over a period of two to four weeks following a single injection, aiming to improve medication adherence and clinical outcomes in patients with chronic psychiatric conditions. It is currently in preclinical development.
