Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NanaBis is a cannabinoid-based investigational analgesic developed by Medlab Clinical Ltd for the management of chronic pain in patients with metastatic cancer, particularly cancer-induced bone pain. It consists of an equimolar (1:1) ratio of synthetic delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (dronabinol) and synthetic cannabidiol (CBD), delivered via the proprietary NanoCelle nanoparticle drug delivery platform as an orobuccal spray. This delivery system is designed to enhance bioavailability by facilitating absorption through the oral buccal mucosa. NanaBis acts on the endocannabinoid system, primarily targeting CB1 and CB2 receptors to provide non-opioid pain relief. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials and is available in Australia under the Special Access Scheme (SAS).
