Overview
Naproxen + chitosan refers to a **nanoparticle-based drug delivery system** in which **naproxen**, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is encapsulated within **chitosan** nanoparticles. This formulation aims to enhance the delivery, controlled release, and potentially the efficacy of naproxen. Chitosan is a natural, biodegradable polymer that enables the formation of nanoparticles via ionic gelation, typically with crosslinkers such as tripolyphosphate. The nanoparticles can improve drug stability, modulate release kinetics, and may exhibit antibacterial and antioxidant properties in addition to the anti-inflammatory action of naproxen. Research demonstrates activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as antifungal and superoxide dismutase-like antioxidant activity[2].
