Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Velsay-S compuesto is a fixed-dose combination of naproxen sodium and paracetamol (acetaminophen), developed and marketed by the Mexican pharmaceutical company Química Son's. It is formulated as an oral suspension and is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and fever, particularly in pediatric patients or as an adjunct therapy for respiratory tract infections. Naproxen sodium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reversibly inhibiting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis. Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic that acts primarily on the central nervous system to alleviate pain and reduce fever.
