Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Naproxen sodium + pseudoephedrine is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed by Hainan Helpson Medical & Biotechnology, a subsidiary of China Pharma Holdings. This combination therapy is designed for the symptomatic relief of the common cold and influenza (flu). It contains **naproxen sodium**, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), and **pseudoephedrine**, a sympathomimetic decongestant. Pseudoephedrine acts primarily on alpha-adrenergic receptors in the nasal mucosa to induce vasoconstriction, thereby reducing nasal congestion and improving sinus drainage. The product is formulated for oral administration and is marketed as an approved generic medication in China.
