nateglinide + mitiglinide

Nateglinide + mitiglinide is a hypothetical combination of two oral antihyperglycemic agents from the meglitinide class, both used individually for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Both drugs act as rapid-acting insulin secretagogues by binding to ATP-sensitive potassium channels (KATP) on pancreatic beta cells, leading to membrane depolarization and subsequent insulin release. Nateglinide is known for its quick onset and short duration of action, primarily targeting postprandial glucose spikes[4][5][8]. Mitiglinide also acts rapidly and has high selectivity for pancreatic SUR1 subunits, resulting in potent stimulation of early-phase insulin secretion[2][6].
