Overview

natrium + dextrose-Hasanuddin University is an experimental oral carbohydrate-electrolyte formulation developed by researchers at Hasanuddin University for use as an ergogenic aid. It consists of a 10% dextrose (glucose) solution combined with sodium (natrium). The formulation was evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, crossover clinical trial (NCT04206579) to assess its effects on blood glucose levels, VO2 max, and sprint speed in young male soccer players. The study compared this combination against a 10% dextrose-only drink, finding that the dextrose-only formulation was more effective at increasing blood glucose and sprint velocity, while no significant difference was observed in VO2 max. This formulation is intended to provide rapid energy and maintain electrolyte balance during high-intensity exercise.
