This combination therapy is an investigational regimen consisting of allogeneic natural killer (NK) cells, the EGFR-targeting monoclonal antibody cetuximab, the VEGF-targeting monoclonal antibody bevacizumab, and the oral fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy capecitabine. It is being evaluated as a maintenance therapy for patients with locally advanced or metastatic colorectal adenocarcinoma. The rationale for this combination lies in the multi-pronged approach to tumor control: NK cells provide direct cytotoxic activity and can mediate antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) when combined with cetuximab; bevacizumab inhibits tumor angiogenesis; and capecitabine provides continuous cytotoxic pressure by inhibiting DNA synthesis. The regimen is part of an exploratory clinical study sponsored by BOE Technology Group to enhance the efficacy of standard maintenance therapies in solid tumors.
