Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NDV + Anh-IL-2 is a recombinant, genetically engineered oncolytic virus therapy constructed from the Anhinga strain of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) expressing interleukin-2 (IL-2). As a combination product, it utilizes the NDV vector—known for its natural oncolytic activity against neoplastic cells—and boosts the immune response against cancers by local expression of IL-2, a cytokine that stimulates T and B cell proliferation and activation. In preclinical models of hepatocellular carcinoma, NDV/Anh-IL-2 demonstrated tumor growth inhibition, induction of long-term immunologic memory, and enhanced lymphocyte tumor infiltration. This drug is primarily in preclinical research as a candidate for immunovirotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma and other tumors[2][4].
