NDV-3 + alum is an investigational recombinant protein subunit vaccine developed by NovaDigm Therapeutics. It consists of the N-terminal portion of the *Candida albicans* agglutinin-like sequence 3 protein (Als3p), expressed in *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* and formulated with an aluminum hydroxide (alum) adjuvant in phosphate-buffered saline. The vaccine targets the Als3p virulence protein, which is essential for the adhesion and invasion of host tissues by *Candida* species. Due to structural homology between Als3p and certain surface proteins on *Staphylococcus aureus*, the vaccine also induces cross-reactive immune responses against staphylococcal infections. NDV-3 has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the prevention and treatment of various forms of candidiasis and *S. aureus* skin and bloodstream infections. A successor formulation, NDV-3A, was subsequently developed without a His-tag.
