Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of necitumumab, an IgG1 monoclonal antibody EGFR antagonist, and osimertinib, an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor. This combination targets EGFR through complementary mechanisms - necitumumab binds to the extracellular domain of EGFR preventing ligand binding, while osimertinib blocks enzymes needed for cell growth by targeting EGFR mutations. The combination has been investigated for treatment of EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer after progression on previous EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
