Nelmastobart + docetaxel is a combination therapy being developed by STCube, Inc. for the treatment of advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Nelmastobart is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody and immune checkpoint inhibitor that targets Butyrophilin 1A1 (BTN1A1), a novel immunotherapy target expressed in a significant portion of NSCLC tumors. Docetaxel is a taxane-based chemotherapy that works by stabilizing microtubules, thereby inhibiting cell division. Preclinical evidence suggests that docetaxel upregulates the expression of BTN1A1, potentially sensitizing tumors to nelmastobart, particularly in PD-L1-negative patients. The combination is currently being evaluated in a biomarker-driven Phase 2 clinical trial for patients with BTN1A1-positive (TPS ≥50%) non-squamous NSCLC who have progressed on prior platinum-based chemotherapy or immunotherapy.
