Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This herbal combination product is an oral capsule formulation containing five traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) ingredients: Nelumbinis folium (lotus leaf), Alismatis rhizoma (water plantain), Citri reticulatae pericarpium (aged tangerine peel), Citri reticulatae viride pericarpium (green tangerine peel), and Atractylodis macrocephalae rhizoma (white atractylodes). Developed by researchers at Southern Cross University, the formulation is designed to address dizziness and vertigo, symptoms often attributed to phlegm-dampness in TCM theory. The product underwent a Phase 1 safety and dose-finding clinical trial in healthy adults to evaluate its tolerability and establish appropriate dosing regimens for future efficacy studies. The combination is hypothesized to work through synergistic diuretic, Qi-regulating, and Spleen-tonifying effects to resolve internal dampness and alleviate vestibular symptoms.
