NeoVax is a personalized neoantigen-based peptide vaccine developed by researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine for the treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma (GBM). The vaccine is designed using a multisector sequencing approach to identify a broad pool of tumor-specific neoantigens across the patient's unique genomic landscape. It consists of synthetic long peptides (SLPs) representing these neoepitopes, which are co-administered subcutaneously with the adjuvant poly-ICLC (Hiltonol), a Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) agonist. The vaccine's mechanism of action involves stimulating the patient's immune system to generate robust neoantigen-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses in the peripheral blood, aiming to target and eliminate residual glioblastoma cells following standard-of-care multimodality treatment.
