Neoveil + fibrin glue is a surgical reinforcement intervention developed and evaluated by the **University of Toyama** to reduce the incidence of clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) following pancreatoduodenectomy. The technique, specifically evaluated in the multicenter **PLANET-PJ** Phase III trial, utilizes a double-layer application of polyglycolic acid (PGA) felt. During the pancreaticojejunostomy, a 0.3 mm thick PGA felt (Neoveil) is pasted onto the pancreatic parenchyma to reinforce the suture line. Subsequently, a 0.15 mm thick PGA felt is wrapped around the anastomotic site and sealed with a spray of fibrin glue. The PGA felt acts as an absorbable mechanical scaffold that strengthens the tissue and promotes healing, while the fibrin glue provides an immediate biological seal to prevent the leakage of pancreatic enzymes.
