Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Neurotrophin-3 (low-dose) is a therapeutic formulation developed by **Guna** using their proprietary **Sequential Kinetic Activation (SKA)** technology. This approach, part of **Physiological Regulating Medicine (PRM)**, delivers signaling molecules like neurotrophin-3 (NT3) at extremely low, physiological concentrations (typically in the picogram/milliliter range). The formulation is designed to provide neurotrophic support to retinal cells, aiming to improve visual function and slow the progression of **retinal atrophy** and other degenerative retinal diseases. By mimicking endogenous signaling, low-dose NT3 is intended to activate high-affinity TrkC receptors on retinal neurons, promoting cell survival, plasticity, and neuroprotection. It has been investigated in Phase 2 clinical settings, often as part of a multi-component low-dose medicine protocol for retinal degeneration.
