Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NewGel+ is a medical-grade silicone-based topical treatment designed for the management and reduction of hypertrophic and keloid scars. Developed by New Medical Technology, it is available as both silicone gel sheets and a topical silicone gel. The product works by creating an occlusive barrier over the scar tissue, which increases hydration of the stratum corneum and regulates fibroblast activity. This process helps to normalize collagen synthesis, leading to a reduction in scar height, redness, and discomfort. It is commonly used for scars resulting from surgical procedures, trauma, burns, and cosmetic surgeries. The gel formulation (NewGel+E) often includes Vitamin E (tocopherol) to further soften and moisturize the skin.
