NiCord + unmanipulated cord blood unit is a **combination cell therapy product** used for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It consists of two umbilical cord blood (UCB) units: one is an ex vivo–expanded UCB-derived hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell product (NiCord), developed using 21-day culture with nicotinamide and infusion of a noncultured T cell fraction; the other is an unmanipulated UCB unit. NiCord is designed to accelerate hematopoietic recovery and enable long-term engraftment. In clinical trials, this approach enables faster neutrophil and platelet recovery compared to historical controls using unmanipulated UCB units, with robust, sustainable engraftment and multilineage hematopoiesis. This combination is primarily investigated for hematologic malignancies in adult patients without suitable single UCB units or matched donors[1][3].
