Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nicotinamide (a form of vitamin B3) and pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a combination of small molecule nutrients investigated for its ability to enhance muscle regeneration. The combination works synergistically by activating Casein kinase 1 (CK1)-mediated cytoplasmic β-catenin and AKT signaling pathways. This activation promotes the amplification and differentiation of muscle stem cells (MuSCs). Preclinical studies have demonstrated that oral administration of this combination can accelerate muscle regeneration, increase muscle strength during recovery, and mitigate muscle stem cell dysfunction associated with aging.
